AYLI, rehearsal 19: MUSIC NIGHT

Tonight was a bit of a rough rehearsal: two out sick, one with car trouble, and we had to learn the music.

But first: THE SET!

Look what John and Robert have pulled off!

But wait! There’s more!

THEY MOVE! So yes, more pieces to the puzzle: who’s going to move them? and to where? SO MANY DECISIONS!

Anyway, despite the fact that two of the four songs we worked on tonight are mostly solos (yay, Gary!), we all learned all of them.

  • Under the greenwood tree (2.5): cute little calypso-ish tune

    • our first view of Jaques; solo, guitar, bit of a chorus

  • Blow, blow, thou winter wind (2.7): a capella, with drumming.

    • This one wasn’t too bad; we’ll need everyone singing from offstage, maybe. This is where it would be nice to have one or two more people for set dressing.

  • It was a lover and his lass (5.3): duet

    • This one’s tough to sing.

  • Juno’s Hymn (5.4)

    • I think I forgot to try the reorchestrated EDM version… Tomorrow night.

It is highly probable that all the songs are going to be part of our PROBLEMS rehearsals.
