How sweet! Children's books! (a Fun Friday resource)

Suppose you had a twisted sense of humor. Suppose you delighted in making off-kilter collages which took perfectly innocent images and imposed your sick, sick values on them.

I mean, what are the odds that a reader of this blog (or of this book) would fall into that category?

And so it is without judgment, real or implied, that I present to you the University of Florida Digital Collections Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature, more than 6,000 digitized children's books from the 19th century and a bit.

There's another illustration from this book (by Joel Chandler Harris) that's so inappropriate that not even I could put it on this blog.
