It's pretty powerful, with brushes, layers, all kinds of controls over all kinds of aspects of the process.  I did the cocktail sketch in a couple of seconds, and now I'm actually considering using it to illustrate the new book.

Public Domain Review continues to serve up really cool material for collage/inspiration.  This time it's Ernst Haeckel's engravings of the microscopic critters known as radiolaria. Those of us who live in the 21st century may forget how marvelous it must have been to see these beings for the first time, and how beautiful they were. And how incredibly inspiring their structures were for someone to painstakingly create these artworks!
