Fun Friday Resources
/Here’s something fun if you’re a typeface geek like I am: Duane King has created a reproduction of the Apple Macintosh’s Chicago font from way back in 1984, originally designed by Susan Kare. I downloaded it immediately. That’s how old I am.
A beautiful if sometimes incomprehensible site: the Origami Simulator. For extra whoa-ness, check out the Curved Creases models under the Examples menu.
Are you already getting excited for Lacuna Group’s Ultimate Shakespeare Smackdown next April at the Newnan-Coweta History Center? Are you worried about memorizing all the hard words? [ed. note: They really aren’t hard words. Stand by for easy lessons on How To Do Shakespeare.] Then head over to Line By Line and get started.
Les songes drolatiques de Pantagruel, or The Droll Dreams of Pantagruel, is a 19th-c. reprint of a 16th-c. collection of grotesques, or surreal/fantastic beings. Head over to the Internet Archive to snag a copy. There is a bit of bleedthrough on the pages, which is annoying, but if you download the B&W PDF that doesn’t seem to be an issue.
