KANBAN-ING IS MY LIFE!

Whew, feels good to say that out loud.

Here’s the thing: Once you start using kanban to organize All The Things, and you start getting on top of All The Things, you may — as many do — start feeling the compulsion to grind through ALL THE THINGS. It becomes obsessive, and it’s not good for your mental or creative health.

Fear not! I have a tip for you that will alleviate the problem.

Here’s the tip. It’s going to change your life.

Make a sticky note that says DOING NOTHING.

Include that thing every now and then in your DOING column. Give yourself permission to practice TASK AVOIDANCE as an option.
